About Little Munchkins Learning Center

Darlene and James Corbin began Little Munchkins in 1976 with the purpose and mission of providing quality care and love to children in an environment enveloped by Christian values. In April 2011, the ownership transferred to Brenda and Ed Winterroth, employees of the center for more than 18 years.

Little Munchkins Learning Center is an independent, privately-owned, Christian-based learning center located in Northwest Austin on Metric Blvd, between Kramer and Rutland. Our 15,000 sq. ft. of indoor space is licensed for more than 300 children and maintains an excellent compliance history with DFPS. Our 10,000 sq. ft. main playground space has lots of shade and contains equipment for ongoing muscle development. Our playground for younger children contains three large wooden decks with a variety of playhouses, rolling and rocking toys and interactive activities. Splash days and water activities are in the deck areas.

Entrances to the facility have secured access keypads with codes that are changed periodically. Upon arriving and leaving each day, attendance for all children and staff are recorded on a keypad entry database at the front desk.

Little Munchkins maintains a Four-Star Certification in the Texas Rising Star Program. TRS is an optional and voluntary accreditation program with compliance and assessments of quality monitored through Texas WorkSource-ChildCare Solutions. We are also accredited through the Association for Early Learning Leaders.

Little Munchkins is an ongoing participant in the Texas School Readiness Certification System which is administered by the Texas State Center for Early Childhood Development. This program certifies that our preschool education classrooms effectively prepare our students for kindergarten.

The Little Munchkins Learning Center staff has been selected because of a love for children, kindness, vitality and the ability to exhibit these same qualities to the children. Each one is more than a teacher; each is a special kind of person!

Through the years, the success and reputation of our center can be attributed to the dedication and tenure of our staff/friends who work with your child every day. Each one is interested in developing a relationship with you as well as with your child. Our desire is to reach a common bond of friendship, care, and cooperation through good communication.
